Privacy policy

Cesar Ledger Co. handles your business's financial information every month, so how that information is protected matters. This page explains, in plain language, what I collect, why, and what you can ask me to do with it.

What I collect

When you contact me: your name, business name, email, phone number (if you give it), your preferred call time, and anything you write about your books.

When you become a client: the financial records needed to keep your books, such as bank and credit card statements, transaction data, invoices and receipts, and read-only access to the accounts we agree on.

How I use it

To reply to you, schedule calls, deliver the bookkeeping services in our agreement, and send your monthly statements.

I do not sell, rent or trade your information, and I do not use it for advertising.

Who sees it

Me. Cesar Ledger Co. is a one-person business, so there is no account team with access to your files.

Your information is also processed by the software needed to do the work, such as accounting software, email and secure file storage. I only share records with your accountant or another third party when you ask me to, or when the law requires it.

The booking form

When you book a call, your name, email, business name and phone number (if given) and the time you picked are sent to my Google Calendar so I can send you a calendar invite.

Nothing you enter is stored on this website itself. If you email or call me instead, I use what you send only to reply and schedule the call.

How it is protected

Account access is read-only wherever possible, files are kept in password-protected, encrypted storage, and access is limited to what the work requires.

How long I keep it

Enquiries from people who do not become clients are deleted within 12 months.

Client records are kept for as long as we work together and afterwards for the period Canadian tax and business record-keeping rules require. After that they are securely deleted.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, correct it, or withdraw your consent to its use, subject to legal record-keeping requirements. Email me and I will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date at the top.
